Kamrunag Lake & Temple

Kamrunag Lake & Temple:
Toknow about KAMRUNAG we have to learn about the story of Yakshas (GOD OF WEALTH) is the name of a broad class of nature-spirits, usually benevolent, who are caretakers of the natural treasures hidden in the earth and tree roots. Yakshas are considered semi-divine, being both half-god and half-demon. They live under the earth in the Himalayas where they guard the wealth of the earth, and are ruled by Kubera, the god of wealth.

Kamrunag Lake is situated at on altitude of approximetly 3400 mtr in Kamru Hill ,Mandi District, Himachal Pradesh in thick and green forest. If we want to visit peaks with greenary and no pollution at all, Kamrunag is one of the place for this in HP. The Lake is completely frozen in winter. When we reach at top, we see a nature at its best! Snowy surfaces, Snowy hills can be a wonderful experience to every one.
KAMRUNAG Covers its boundary of nearly 2-3 km., Named KHUNDA , which marks the start of the boundary of the Dev Kamrunag. prohibited things LIKE,taking Leather shoes, leather items, alcohal (Drink) are not allowed beyond this point.

One can reach Kamrunag either from Rohanda, which is a two hour steep trek, or from the Jalpa Temple via Chailchowk. The Balh Valley, the Baggi canal, and the cloudy roads make the ride unforgettable. Reaching Jalpa Temple from Sundernagar is a matter of not more than three hours. The Jalpa Temple is located at the dead-end of the road. The temple is built in Pagoda Style and there is a strange story associated with it. In those parts of Himachal, construction work of any temple should be done without eating anything but fruits. Few years ago, when the temple was almost complete, the laborers worked on eat after they had their full course meal and the temple fell down the very next day. It was reconstructed again and today it is one of the most beautiful temples in Himachal Pradesh that I have seen.
